Rabbi, Prof Shlomo Sawilowsky Z”L was of the most outstanding students of the Yeshiva Pirchei Shoshanim program. Coming from a secular background or family support he felt truth and worked on himself achieving both ultimate spiritual level as the valedictorian of his class when he received Semicha [Rabbinical Ordination] from Yeshiva Pirchei Shoshanim. From there he published a classic work on the laws of Shabbos enabling untold numbers to understand of the most sophisticated areas of Torah Judaism. As a professor of statistics he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. He of those few people who ran away from honor, yet the honor ran after him. Without question his spiritual light will carry on forever as he sits teaching amongst the Holy Angels in the presence of the HOLY ONE.
